SEASIDE, Monterey County — October 27, 2026. Families can register children for Seaside’s 2027 Police Activities League and Recreation youth basketball program. The city lists seven divisions serving ages 5–6 through age 14, including girls’ and coed groups.

Who can play?

The youngest divisions cover ages 5–6, 7–8 and 9–10; older divisions include girls’ and coed groups for 12-and-under and 14-and-under players. The city says participants must not be beyond eighth grade. Families should match a child’s age and eligibility to the precise program code and request current pricing and practice dates from the Recreation Department; the official notice does not promise a free place for every applicant.

Coaches are needed too

The city is seeking coaches and states that they must have CPR/AED certification, with certification costs reimbursed. December 31, 2026 is the published coach application deadline. This is distinct from a registration deadline for players, so parents should check directly before assuming all enrollment remains open.

Register at Seaside’s official Recreation registration portal, or call program coordinator Sara Cotham at 831-899-6806.
